Texas Holdem poker, just like all poker games, is played with a 52-card deck. In the beginning of the game, the two players to the immediate left of the dealer post Blind bets - the Small Blind and the Big Blind. After that, all players at the table are dealt two private cards, also known as pocket or hole cards. The first round of betting takes place and the player to the left of the Big Blind is first to act. All players now have three options - to call, raise or fold. To call means to match the previous bet, to raise is to bet an additional amount into the pot and to fold means to drop out of the hand.

After the first betting round, three community cards are dealt in the middle of the table and this is known as the Flop. Another round of betting occurs followed by the fourth community card - the Turn. After the Turn the third betting round ensues, starting with the player to the left of the dealer. Next, the fifth community card, known as the River is dealt in the middle of the table. The fourth and final round of betting takes place and if there are two or more players in the hand, they reveal their cards and the best hand wins the pot. In case, when there are two players with equal hands, the pot is split between them.
